This session will explore domestic abuse in the workplace and equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to concerns appropriately. We’ll look at what domestic abuse is, the different forms it can take, and how coercive control can affect someone’s behaviour and choices.

We’ll explore the signs that an employee may be experiencing domestic abuse, as well as indicators that an employee may be perpetrating abuse. We’ll also consider why people may not leave abusive relationships and what this means for how we respond.

By the end of the session, participants will have a better understanding of domestic abuse and practical guidance on how to respond sensitively, safely and appropriately when concerns arise in the workplace.
